Some time has passed since our last event, when we went out on a short drive together in our beloved cars, followed by an educational visit to the Aviation Museum.   It was evident that most of us found this visit to be very interesting.

It’s now high time that we organize another club meet.  This time, we have planned a drive followed by a picnic, if the weather conditions permit.  As explained some events back, we’re trying to keep away from adventurous events at this time of year because of the persistent bad weather.

The next event will be held on Sunday, 4th March 2001.  The meeting place will be near The Black Pearl Bar and Restaurant at Ta’ Xbiex Marina, between 09:00 and 09:30 am, where we’ll be exchanging our ‘bongu’ and have a word the rest of us arrive.

From there we’ll take to our cars again, and drive along the coast, through Ta’ Xbiex sea front, The Strand - Gzira, along Sliema front up to St. Julian’s, the Salina coast road, through St. Paul’s and on to Ghajn Tuffieha.

Hopefully, if the weather is on our side, we’ll be having a picnic at a chosen picnic area close to the Golden Sands Hotel.  As it is difficult to cater for everyone’s tastes, lunch arrangements are up to the individuals.  Alternatively, if the weather is not too good, we’ll pop in at the Apple’s Eye Bar and Restaurant (at Ghajn Tuffieha still) for a hot cup of coffee or tea.

We’ve also been promised some VW calendars and the second edition of Continental Cars’ magazine.  Whilst enough copies of the magazine will be available, the calendars will be given out on a first come, first served basis.  So make sure you don’t miss this event.
